Amazon SES
AWS's own email sending service: an API and SMTP endpoint plus primitives — identities, configuration sets, event destinations — that you assemble into an email system. YourMail is built on it, so this is the option we are a consumer of rather than an alternative to.
Who it suits
Teams already running on AWS who are comfortable building the parts Postmark gives them out of the box: events, suppression handling, webhooks and templates.
Genuinely good at
- Choice of region, including Europe (London), eu-west-2, alongside Ireland, Frankfurt, Paris, Stockholm, Milan and Zurich among others. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
- Receiving as well as sending in many of those regions, London included, so inbound mail can stay in the same region as outbound. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
Trade-offs
- New accounts start in a sandbox, per region: mail only to verified addresses, 200 messages per 24 hours, 1 per second, until a production-access request is approved (AWS says it gives an initial response within 96 hours).
- Much less is done for you than on Postmark: delivery events, webhooks to your app, suppression decisions and unsubscribe handling are yours to build.
Where it sends from
Whichever supported region you choose — London (eu-west-2) is one of them. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))

Mailgun
An email API and SMTP service for sending, receiving and tracking email, with inbound message parsing, an email validation API and deliverability tooling alongside it.
Who it suits
Teams that want an established email API with an EU region and inbound parsing in the same product.
Genuinely good at
- A separate EU region, chosen per sending domain from one account and reached at its own base URL (api.eu.mailgun.net). (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
- Inbound parsing, email validation and deliverability tools in the same product as sending. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
Trade-offs
- Its regions are the US and the EU; it does not describe a UK region. After Brexit an EU region does not by itself answer a UK residency question.
- Some account data — account information, billing details, API keys and domain names — is replicated globally rather than held in your chosen region, by Mailgun's own description.
Where it sends from
US or EU, chosen per domain. Mailgun says message data — messages, event logs, suppressions and more — never leaves the region that processes it. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))

Resend
A developer-focused email API with transactional sending and Broadcasts, its product for bulk marketing email to contacts and segments. The team behind it also hosts the open-source React Email library on GitHub.
Who it suits
JavaScript and React teams who want a modern API, React Email templates, and marketing broadcasts alongside transactional mail.
Genuinely good at
- Sending from multiple regions on one account, including Ireland (eu-west-1), with a backup domain in another region if one is disrupted. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
- Broadcasts for newsletters, product launches and other bulk mail to segments of your contacts, beside transactional sending. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
Trade-offs
- No UK sending region among the four it lists, and account data — metadata, logs and API records — is stored in the US whichever region sends.
- A wider product than Postmark's transactional focus, if what you liked about Postmark was the narrowness.
Where it sends from
North Virginia, Ireland, São Paulo or Tokyo, chosen per domain; account data stays in the United States. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))

SendGrid
Twilio's email platform: an email API and SMTP service plus marketing campaigns, at the scale of a large established vendor.
Who it suits
Teams that want transactional and marketing mail from one large vendor, need dedicated IPs, or have a non-developer editing campaigns.
Genuinely good at
- An EU data residency option: an EU-designated subuser with an EU dedicated IP, sending through api.eu.sendgrid.com. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
- Breadth: the email API, SMTP and marketing campaigns under one vendor. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))
Trade-offs
- EU residency needs a higher-tier package with dedicated IPs, a new EU-designated subuser, and loses Marketing, Activity, Validation and Geostats for that subuser.
- Much more product than a transactional send needs — the opposite of Postmark's focus.
Where it sends from
Without EU data residency, sends use the global endpoint and data can leave the EU; with it set up, data is stored in the EU and processed there “whenever possible”, with stated exceptions such as support access. (as of October 2026, source (opens in a new tab))

YourMail
A transactional email API built on Amazon SES in London, operated by a UK company. One send call, delivery events, signed webhooks, and suppression enforced automatically. This is our product, so weigh this entry accordingly.
Who it suits
UK teams whose customers or reviewers ask where mail is sent from and expect a specific, checkable answer — and who want transactional sending only.
Genuinely good at
- Sending from London (eu-west-2), visible in the headers of every message you receive, with the residency position — including what is NOT in the UK — written down on the site. (details)
- Hard bounces and complaints suppressed automatically, and RFC 8058 one-click unsubscribe on mail marked bulk without ever blocking a password reset. (details)
Trade-offs
- New. The track record is short, and a short record is a short record.
- Transactional only: no broadcasts, audiences, campaign builder or hosted template editor, and none is planned.
- Support is the founder by email — fast in practice, and a single point of failure by definition.
- A new account's daily limit ramps up over its first week of live sending.
Where it sends from
Sending is in the UK — London (eu-west-2), on AWS SES. Stored data (message records, bodies, attachments and events) is held by our database provider, Convex, in the United States. (details)
